Tales of a League Rookie: My Adventures in Middle Lane

My first foray into League of Legends was as a support. Shane and I duoed bottom lane, so he got me his favourite character for that role, Nami, for my birthday—and I had a grand time with her and her splashy fish-person ways.

If you’re unfamiliar with League, basically the support runs around behind the ADC (the big DPS-dealer) and their whole job is to keep them alive and set up kills. Nami is really good at that, both because she has a bubble that stops people in their tracks and because she has a heal that does very literal splash damage.

I got pretty good with her, but then, everything changed.

Tabletop Tuesday: I Made a Race for Pathfinder

I picked up playing Dungeons and Dragons shortly after Shane and I started dating. At the beginning, it was definitely something I picked up to impress the super-cute nerdy guy who didn’t know me that well yet, but it’s evolved into one of our favourite couples activities.

The first game we ever played together was Pathfinder, which if you aren’t familiar with it, is extremely broken compared to other versions.

How I Became a Blogger

I’ve always been one of those people that just kind of falls into things by accident. Luckily, they usually seem to work out in my favour—sometimes it’s little things like finding a $5 bill on the ground right outside my car door, or sometimes it’s big things like picking a pet parakeet that would live for almost a decade. And, you know, definitely be a source of joy and support for some of life’s most tumultuous times.

My career definitely falls into that category.
