Final Fantasy fashion: What’s in my glamour dresser

One of the things Final Fantasy XIV players tend to hear a lot is that glamour is the real end-game—not high-end gear, raid tiers, or anything like that. In fact, I’d argue it’s that way for a lot of MMO-type games!

In FFXIV especially, fashion has turned into such a big component of the game for some players that there are entire third-party sites dedicated to sharing outfits and styles to inspire others.

So after spending way too long looking through those sites and working on my own character’s wardrobe, I thought I’d share the designs I’ve been loving lately!

Quick note: All my glamours feature an eternity ring on my character’s left hand because Shane and I did an in-game wedding a few years ago.

Classy Coachella

Though I’ve never really been much of a music festival girl (especially after watching the Fyre Festival documentary on Netflix, yikes), I’ve always admired the pure glam that comes with that lifestyle. So when I was putting together a glamour plate for my dancer, I decided to have a little fun and mimic that style!

Here’s what I used to make it:

Flower mage

I am a sucker for anything that involves flowers, and honestly, if I had a garden, I’d probably figure out ways to wear them all the time. This outfit, which I mostly use for my red mage, is a pretty, summery outfit perfect for Costa del Sol.

Here’s what I used to make it:

Note: I’m not the right level yet for the bracelet, so you can’t see it—but I added it just because I love how it looks like a silver charm bracelet!

White (and pink) mage

I’ve been trying to get into healer classes lately (I am terrible at them), and ever since I somehow ended up with a teak cane, I’ve wanted to design a glamour set to match. So now that I’m the right level to use the cane, this is what I came up with!

Here’s what I used to make it:

Note: Same as my flower mage, you can’t see the bracelet yet because I’m not the right level. But just know it’s there!

Coffee shop

My love of coffee had to come in somewhere! And of course, as soon as I saw the craftsman’s apron, I knew it’d be perfect for putting together a coffee-themed outfit. In hindsight, I should have put it on my culinarian, but I do like it for wandering the wilds as a botanist (and collecting coffee beans) too.

Here’s what I used to make it:

YOUR TURN

Do you ever glamour your character's gear? What's your favourite style?

  1. When I met my husband on FFXIV he was obsessed with dressing both our characters up! But back then we didn’t have 3rd party sources. I remember he’d ask to “borrow” mills on mills to buy new clothes off the MB lmao. I miss those days and I miss playing FFXIV! But glamour IS the true end game lol! I just wish we had more options on the MB!
