This is one of the earlier builds I did, when I was still trying to figure out how to design homes in FFXIV—not that the backwards Eorzean map around the fireplace gives me away at all for that!
One of the most frustrating things I’ve always run into with small homes in particular, as cute as they are, is that it’s hard to feel like you’ve gotten a full build in with such a small space. That’s primarily why I started looking to loft builds, so I could feel like it wasn’t so cramped.
This design in particular I love because it uses a really modern vibe, and though I hadn’t figured out how to get furniture onto lofts and things yet, it still felt like a big, airy space.
I was particularly happy with the way the ladder turned out, because even though you’re not supposed to be able to, I could jump on it just the right way to get onto the loft without a massive staircase taking up space. I do feel bad that Shane’s character was too tall for that little glitch to work, though!
I also really loved how the kitchen turned out. It was a really nitpicky part of the build, and took a while to figure out, but it just looks so clean.
