Now, I know this is a little off-topic, but bear with me.
The only hint to this so far has been a pithy one-liner in my bio, but my day job involves a whole bunch of writing. Which means that I’m very familiar with the fact that once in a while, writer’s block happens.
I’ve actually been struggling a lot lately to come up with good things to talk about, and although just starting this post has given me about a million ideas, I’m committed now.
The gameplay conundrum
I’ve never been stellar at time management when it comes to my personal life. This is my process:
Step 1: Be ridiculously busy, between work, family obligations, and trying to do things like have a life.
Step 2: Have approximately five minutes to spare, and decide that’s enough time to start a big project.
Step 3: Never actually finish said project because ridiculously busy.
And that’s pretty much how my week has been.
That’s why I’ve been finding myself in a very awkward place. See, the thing they don’t really tell you (and that you don’t really assume) when you start a gaming blog is that eventually, you will find yourself in a position where you either have time to write about that game, or you have time to play it.
Which really doesn’t make a whole lot of sense, because you can’t very well write about something you haven’t played.
Things to come?
The issue of not having enough time isn’t really limited to gaming, but as much as I wish I had more time to play video games, I have had a bit of time this week to work on things to come.
I’m hoping in the next few weeks to get started on the poor neglected Stream section, and I have a few projects on the go too! I’ve also been working on redoing some of the way my blog looks, because I haven’t been entirely happy with it but also I don’t understand CSS yet.
C’est la vie.
All of this has really made me realize how big the backlog is, including some games that I’ve heard about for years but just haven’t gotten around to. So now I have lots to do this weekend to accomplish all the bright ideas I came up with!
