This past Saturday, the Girly Geek Blog officially turned three! That’s it. I have a toddler. I no longer know what to do with my life.
All melodramatic and mildly fatalistic jokes aside, I had wanted to do something pretty big to celebrate, but unfortunately, that didn’t really happen. After all, as a marketer by day and a blogger by night, things can get pretty hectic in my day-to-day life. And the last month or so has been a prime example of that.
A few months ago, the company I work for started launching a new brand, and with a sudden due date of TODAY set about a month ago, a lot of things have come down to the wire. And that, of course, has meant a lot of mental exhaustion for me.
But despite that, I’ve been pushing myself to work on a few things of my own lately!
Introducing a brand-new look
For the last four or five months, I’ve been slowly (and I do mean slowly) working on an overhaul for my blog that I think both suits my aesthetic style a little better (AKA it perdy), which means that my logo case is going to be outdated. But luckily, I’ve got a new one on the way already!
The overhaul also sorts the content I write a little better so y’all can find what you’re looking for. I especially wanted to create a broader section for FFXIV design and Sims 4 design content, because I did the math and between the two of them, that makes up just about 80% of the page views my entire blog gets.
Good thing I like making that stuff!
Here’s a little sneak peek at what I’m working on:

Introducing new types of content
With the new look, I’m working on adding a major new content section: Blogging. I’ve touched on it before because it is such a major part of my life, but I really want to expand on it because I’ve been doing it for such a long time—and I’ve always believed the best kind of knowledge is shared.
To be honest, I didn’t realize how important my little brain nuggets were until I started this blog. But so many of you reach out to me and ask questions about stuff like blogging and Instagram, a lot of the time because you want to be able to start your own, and I absolutely love that you can do that—and I love the fact that my experience means I can help you!
By adding that kind of content more often, I’m hoping I can help you guys with what I know—maybe even before the questions come to mind.
…but it’s a little delayed.
I was hoping to have it all ready to go when I release the new design, just because, well, I kind of put it all over the place in the new design, but unfortunately because of everything going on at work, I had to put it on hold.
I booked the rest of this week off after today, so the plan is to sit myself down for my normal working hours and get as much of it ready for you guys as possible, so I can hopefully get the new design up and running over the weekend. I’ll keep you updated!
One thought on “What’s coming up: New year, new logo, new content!”
It’s crazy how hectic life seems to have gotten even during a lock down! I just started blogging again and I feel so behind on everything!
