How I’m celebrating National Decorating Month 2022

With spring around the corner, I’m sure many of us are excited for a bit of freshness. And this year, I wanted to do something a little bit different.

A couple of years ago, I tried my hand at Blogtober, a global challenge for bloggers where you try to post at least once a day. Obviously, I didn’t do perfectly, because sometimes life just happens. But I loved the challenge! So when I found out that April was National Decorating Month, and realized I had all kinds of backed-up ideas for the design section on the blog, I thought to myself it’d be fun to try the same challenge but with a theme.

If you’re not familiar with National Decorating Month (which I sure wasn’t), the idea is that it’s a reset button for your design senses. Or, as I learned,

"

Get creative and crafty, and bring life back to your home by painting, arranging furniture, and otherwise decorating the space you spend so much time in.

I absolutely loved that idea because well, I know what it’s like to be the person who has zero inspiration to do something with a space. It’s especially frustrating when it’s something you normally enjoy, but you just can’t get into it.

So this month, I’m going to challenge myself to post every day on a different design-themed topic!

I’m hoping this will help my fellow design enthusiasts learn some new tricks, refine their design style, and just feel happier about making beautiful spaces.

So stay tuned, and I’ll see you tomorrow for the first official post!
