Good news! We are officially on the far side of moving day now, which is honestly such a relief for me. There are still a few things to pick up from our apartment before our lease is up on October 31, but well, I’ve got lots of time for that!
For now, I’m just happy that the flurry is over. The last few days since my last blog post have been an absolute blur, between frantically finishing the last coats of paint and driving back and forth to the apartment to make sure we were all packed.
I was not ready for that level of adulting, guys. I thought I was, but I was not.
In any case, though, I survived! All the rooms we wanted to paint in time for moving got finished, all the new furniture we got from Ikea got built, and I somehow got enough sleep the night before the move. Enough, in fact, that I made it through moving day without a single cup of coffee.
I know, who am I, right?
And well, aside from an incident with our Internet service tech not being able to find the cable we needed and scaring me that I’d have to try and set something else up (it all worked out though), moving day went without a hitch.
And now, the unpacking begins.
For the most part, I’ve started shifting my attention to unpacking all these new boxes taking up the majority of our living spaces. They’re big, they’re awkward, they’re in the way, and as far as I’m concerned, it’s like Christmas because I’m not entirely sure what each box contains.
So far, I’ve managed to put together the kitchen and most of the living room, with a few more things to finish up today. My main goals for today, though, are our gaming space and my new office, because I do go back to work tomorrow and I need me my FFXIV fix before that can happen!
If y’all don’t mind the boxes and general moving mess, here’s where we’ve gotten to (and a reminder of what these walls looked like before!)
And there’s one other thing…
I’ll have some exciting news to share in the next few days as my brain comes to terms with it, so stay tuned!
