So you might remember, but last week, amid all my rambling about cleaning out old photos and videos, I mentioned there was something exciting I was hoping to introduce you to this week.
Well, good news—it’s here!
After far too long being intimidated by how involved it can be to edit videos and their accompanying voiceover tracks, I’ve finally gotten brave and started work on a fresh series of videos for building homes in Final Fantasy XIV.
The first one is out today, and walks through how to float wall-mounted items like windows and planters!
Check it out on YouTube here:
Now, a little disclaimer.
If you’ve been following the news from Fan Fest this year, then you may know as well as I do that we’ve got some potential changes to the housing system coming at some point in Evercold. And this might mean that glitches as we know them will change forever.
But.
They also might not. So far, all we’ve heard about is the possibility of a new UI, which might solve some of the furniture floating problems, and the ability to remove pillars—but we don’t know the scale of the new UI and we have no idea when those changes may come.
They could end up being as late in the patch cycle as Beastmaster has been for Dawntrail. You know, only a year and a half later.
They could also end up being the next iteration of Ishgard housing, the forever-delayed feature players asked for over three expansions.
I’m planning to make more videos on the changes once they go live, but if this knowledge can help someone make their decorating dreams come true in the meantime, then I figure it’s worth sharing.
I’ve got a full series planned to cover all kinds of tricks I use in my builds, so stay tuned in the coming weeks!
