If you’ve spent a lot of time wandering around my Sims 4 builds, you’ve probably noticed a theme. Almost all of them feature a lot of grey, with a few little accent colours here and there to brighten it up.
With our new house, this is the first time I’ve really been able to design a room how I want, which I’ve taken out in full force on my new office! And aside from last week’s escapade involving my desk, it’s actually going really well.
So well, in fact, that it’s now the closest room to being done.
Where we started
As you might recall from an earlier post, when we took possession of the house, my future office space was one of the most vividly blue rooms you’ve probably ever seen.
Just for fun, here’s a reminder:

When I did a follow-up a little bit later on the house’s progress, the office was the only room I didn’t include because it was a hot mess at the time. Mainly, it was full of not-actually-placed furniture, including a shelf in the middle that I didn’t know where to move.
You know, small details.
Where we’re at now
In the span of five days, this little room has gone from being a total wreck to being a pure tribute to my Sims 4 design style, with my signature light grey walls, black features for contrast, and accent colour scattered throughout.

So far, it’s been incredibly helpful for me, too—both as a place to work during the day, and as a place where I feel extra creative for writing blog posts!
I still need to finish up with my shelf, and we have an electrician coming in on Friday to put in an overhead light (currently I’m at the mercy of daylight and a little lamp), but it’s definitely my favourite new creative place.
Where do you feel most creative?
